My husband and I just moved into a new apartment and the internet has been sketchy. Sometimes it will connect and sometimes it won't. When it does connect it is so slow that it takes about 10 minutes to open a new page. We've been frustrated because we haven't been able to check our email.
It's funny how dependent we are on computers and the internet. It's amazing to think how much technology has transformed our lives and it's hard to imagine life without it.
I totally feel you on this. My internet is generally reliable at my apartment, but sometimes it's down for no reason and I get so incredibly frustrated because I pretty much live on my computer. I could do something else instead as I wait for it to come back on, but I end up just waiting for it to work and do nothing productive. Maybe I am slightly addicted... :P
ReplyDeletei realize how dependent i am on the internet when it goes out. i panic as i begin to think "how can i call the company to get it fixed?! i can't even google their phone number!!!"
ReplyDeleteinternet was put on phones for people like me, i suppose.
the phone book has been utterly replaced by google.
Seriously!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I lived for almost a year in an apartment that didn't have TV, internet.. etc. It was actually really good for us because we stayed on campus until he got everything done we needed on the internet.. and then, when we came home, we were home.
I would seriously consider trying it sometime. Granted, now we had the internet, I wouldn't be ready to give it away. It is just funny how you can actually live without it too!
I do feel for you though! I hope it starts working soon!
I have the same problem, and it seems to happen exactly when I NEED to do something on the internet.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to this! When I lived in Europe last summer I didn't have a phone or the internet. I felt so behind on everything that was going on in the world. It's crazy hoe dependent we really are on media..
